Pulse Alpha is free on OpenCode. Who built it is still unknown.
OpenCode documents the stealth model itself. Lumina’s Hy4 and Qwen guesses remain guesses.
A new anonymous model can be tried through OpenCode under the identifier pulse-alpha-free. Its official model catalogue calls Pulse Alpha a temporary free stealth offering used to collect feedback. The mystery is its identity, not whether the name exists.
@LuminaBench flagged the model on 2 November and suggested Hy4 or something from Qwen, explicitly saying they had not tested it. The inspected OpenCode documentation does not identify either developer. There is no basis here for calling this a Qwen launch or a benchmark winner.
There is a practical limit: OpenCode lists Ukraine, the EU and several other territories among the exclusions. Free-tier chat models also require OpenCode. For eligible users, the interesting opportunity is to evaluate an unknown model on real coding work before its maker is disclosed; availability alone tells us nothing about its quality.
