Optimus reservations in December? Musk answers ‘No’

A report names a December window for consumer reservations. Musk’s one-word reply pushes back, but leaves the details unresolved.

Elon Musk (@elonmusk) has answered “No” to a post about opening Optimus orders in December. Robert Scoble (@Scobleizer) had shared the report, asked whether ordering was coming, and jokingly asked a bot to buy him one. Musk’s reply offers no explanation of which part he is rejecting.

The timeline comes from Rachyl Jones (@RachylJones), reporting for The San Francisco Standard on October 30. Her named source, robotics investor and Humanoids Summit organizer Modar Alaoui, says Tesla told him reservations would open around the December 1–2 conference or shortly afterward. The article says Tesla did not respond to its request for comment.

Scoble subsequently interpreted Musk’s answer as a denial of the December timing. That is stronger than the one-word response itself. Reservations would also be a different milestone from deliveries: a place in a queue does not establish when a robot reaches a buyer. For anyone waiting to order Optimus, the useful distinction is a reported reservation window versus a booking date Tesla has actually announced. These exchanges establish the former, not the latter.
