Chetaslua reports five “Hydrogen” checkpoints for Gemini 4 Flash
A five-column comparison follows Lyra’s claim of A/B testing in AI Studio and LMArena. The model identities and claimed 300–500 tokens per second remain unverified.
Five alleged “Hydrogen” checkpoints are the latest clue in the Gemini 4 Flash rumor. Chetaslua (@chetaslua) posted a comparison on 4 November and claimed a speed of roughly 300–500 tokens per second. The screenshot shows five versions of a pelican on a bicycle, a lighthouse and a game controller.
It is a local comparison page, not a capture of an Arena session or an AI Studio model selector. Labels start with “hydrogen”, but their suffixes are blurred. The image does not expose request logs, a reproducible timing method or model identifiers we can authenticate. The speed figure is the author’s claim, not a measurement established by this screenshot.

The visible local page is attributed to Chetaslua; blurred model labels and output images do not authenticate the underlying models.
Chetaslua quotes an earlier post by Lyra (@lyraxana), who says Gemini 4 Flash, codenamed Hydrogen, is being A/B tested in AI Studio and LMArena. Lyra’s attachment is a meme, not a testing artifact. The later comparison adds material to inspect, but the explicit quote links the two posts; it does not make them independent confirmations.
The useful question is whether Google is testing another Flash model, and what it trades for speed. These posts do not yet answer that. Google’s public model catalog, checked on 5 November, does not list Hydrogen. Neither post establishes a release date, pricing or a supported way to access it.
