A 66-second film from code? Chetaslua attributes the demo to Fable 5.5
The creator says Python generated every frame and sound. The published prompt allows pre-rendering; model identity and the full production process are unverified.
Chetaslua says Fable 5.5 created a 66-second animated short by writing Python for every frame and sound. In the 2 November post, the creator reports about 2 hours 40 minutes of autonomous work, with no image-generation models, stock assets or audio samples. Those are the creator’s production claims; we have not independently reproduced them.

The production method and model identity are the creator’s claims.
The accompanying prompt describes “The Last Page”: a fox wakes a forgotten library, and its pages become birds. It asks for a self-contained HTML film with sound and explicitly allows pre-rendering the film and embedding it. “One HTML file” describes delivery; it does not mean the browser calculates each frame live.
A separate, earlier demo by the same author, “The Moss Keeper”, does have a public repository. At commit 75148b8, its HTML decodes an embedded base64 MP4 into a video Blob; a canvas adds grain. We inspected that source without running it. This establishes how that earlier film is played, not how its pictures were made—and it is not the source of the newer fox film.
For filmmakers, the useful possibility is a coding agent that builds an entire audiovisual sequence rather than a single animation widget. To judge that capability, we would need the new film’s rendering code, production trace and model identification. The inspected posts do not establish those details or an official Fable 5.5 release.
