What was announced
Announced September 8, the plugins place Runway generation and Aleph 2 restyling inside Premiere Pro and After Effects. Results can return to the sequence or composition. Installation is free; generation uses an existing paid plan and credits. These are the announced features; I have not tested the plugins yet.
What it means for direction
What interests me is seeing a new shot alongside the shots it needs to match. A beautiful replacement can still break screen direction, rhythm or an actor’s eyeline. Keeping the original cut visible gives those decisions a better context. The plugin does not guarantee that the shots will match.
What to evaluate next
A useful first evaluation: duplicate a sequence, select one difficult transition, generate a single alternative and compare both versions at normal playback speed. Check duration, handles, color, sound and rollback before expanding the workflow. The success criterion is whether the sequence works better.
